Use of Licensed Software in your devices

CC has been repeatedly reinforcing to users not to use pirated software. In spite of this, we are in receipt of complaints from OEMs that many desktops/laptops are running pirated software and they are dragging us to compliance terms. Please note: 1. Users are NOT supposed to indulge in piracy / copyrighted downloads. 2. Use genuine licensed software on your devices having TIFR accession numbers. 3. TIFR-licensed software can only be used on official devices (devices with TIFR Accession no. For e.g. TFR/2021/202384/CCCF) and not on personal devices. 4. If you are bringing personal devices for connecting to the internet through the TIFR network, you have to have licensed software on that device. 5. Colaba colony resident networks also come under the TIFR IP range and hence they are also advised to work with the licensed software. If any OEM runs an audit and any user is found running pirated versions of any software, users will have to directly enter into a legal encounter with the OEM. TIFR will not come to your rescue. Users are advised to take this seriously since OEMs are very aggressive in combating piracy. Please note that neither TIFR nor CC has any control over the legal action any OEM may take when they encounter any instance of piracy. Please abide by TIFR Usage Policy: https://www.tifr.res.in/~cccf/cccf/policy.php
